When my grandson was about 2 years old, he already had figured out how to do more on an iPad than I could at the time. He used it to help himself learn colors, numbers, the alphabet, and how to read. He could do one thing until he tired of it and then could move to something else. The iPad wasn’t his only source for learning, of course, but he often preferred it. He could learn exactly what he chose to learn whenever he wanted it. He would rotate through several subjects, practicing each for a few minutes, until an hour or two had passed. It was fascinating to watch–the ultimate self-guided education.
